DescriptionCylindrical basket with pine base, birch bark sides secured by single vertical seam. Overlapping cover. Exterior done in bands of vertically woven rushes with some designs (horizontal) in porcupine quill. Two bands encircle box, leaving upper 3 cm. bare to form bezel on which cover fits. Cover encircled by one band of woven rushes; top has eight pointed star in quill work. Rushes rich brown; pine and bark slightly darkened with age; quills natural cream color.Collections
