DescriptionA glass sprinkler bottle (.1) with straight sides, a curved shoulder and narrow neck. Likely hand blown with bubbles present within the purple-toned glass. The base has raised letters arranged in a circle: "DR. S. B. H. & CO. PR". .2-.3 are two metal stoppers. .2 has cork around the circumference of the bottom walls. .3 has black tape wrapped around the bottom walls with incised letter around the circumference of the top: "'MAGIC' U.S. TRADE MARK REG-PAT PGD". Each stopper has small holes perforating the circular top side with a slight indentation around the exterior edge and is hollow on the interior. Narrative
Prior to the invention of the steam iron, sprinkler bottles were commonly used to apply water onto fabric in order to release wrinkles while ironing. Sprinkling tops began to be used in glass bottles in the mid 19th century.
