The upper portion of the torso and arms are white while the bottom is dark blue with three lighter shades of blue on the top edge with a wave-like pattern. At the center of the chest is a maple leaf-like logo with an image that looks like the Confederation Bridge at the center with shades of green and blue, to the left is “PEI – IPE / 2023 / Jeux Du / Canada / Games” in green and black font. At the end of either sleeve is a tight black cuff which would extend onto the hand with a large hole through which to place a wearer’s thumb. The interior is lined in white mesh fabric with two labels are sewn into top back.Narrative
The 2023 Canada Games Committee held a Island wide contest in the spring of 2021 among school age children to find a mascot for the 2023 Canada Games. 1,200 entries were received from 45 different schools, and in November 2021 it was announced that Myla Doucette's mascot "Wowkwis" (Mi'kmaq for "red-fox") was the winner and Doucette was able to meet the mascot in real-life. Wowkwis features a jersey, hat, mitts and shoes in the same colours as the official colours of the 2023 Canada Games in addition to a birch bark and quillwork medallion made by Noella Moore, a Mi'kmaw artist from PEI.
