DescriptionBlack bicorne hat made of felted beaver (A), banded with finely corded cotton. The top edges extend over the top concealing a rectangular metal receptacle with a heart headed screw tightener. The hat is lined in red silk and there is beige leather on the inside for the hat band. The hat is decorated with a gold colored wire gimp arrow shape that is sewn on the front with a semi-spherical ball buttons near the point as well as pieces of black floral ribbon on either side near the base and fine gold colored wire "ringlets" on each end. The plumage (B) consists of three pieces of wood that are wired together holding a bouquet of red feathers that are topped by white feathers. The wood fits into the metal receptacle in the top of the hat. There is also a brass colored ring at the top center of the feather bouquet.Collections
