The Rimutaka was a large schooner built-in 1900 in Dumbarton,
Scotland by shipbuilder W. Denny. This large steamship was built for The New
Zealand Shipping company, which ran cargo ships between New Zealand and Great
Britain. The Rimutaka was retired from service in 1929.
