DescriptionSilver colored coin. The front of the coin has the image of Queen Victoria wearing a crown. The back of the coin has a circle of leaves around the edge, the center of the back is undecorated. Only the front of the coin has text on it. Silver and bronze coins bearing the word "Canada" were issued for the first time in 1858. This signaled the birth of a distinctive Canadian currency. The coins were minted until 1867.
