DescriptionA 1 cent Canadian coin from 1954. On the front are two maple leaves with " 1 cent" above and "1954 / Canada" below. The reverse side has the profile of a woman with "Elizabeth II Dei Gratia Regina" around the outer edge. Narrative
During renovations to a former Lebanese grocery store, located on the corner of Pownal and Richmond streets, this coin was found amongst the assortment of candy and treat wrappers, hidden underneath the original store counter by Saied and Esma Kays' three daughters. Other items like this coin joined the group of treats enjoyed while "helping" their parents in the store.
