DescriptionA wooden, step-style commode with three steps. The top of each step is covered by green upholstery. The commode has four turned, columnar legs (15cm length). The middle step can be pulled forward and the top hinges upwards. Inside is space for a chamber pot to be stored. The top step opens upward with hinges on the back edge and is hollow on the inside. Step-style commodes date to the 1810s and provide a practical solution to storing a chamber pot with additional storage compartments close at hand.
