DescriptionA rectangular postcard with the image of a lake with two buildings on the far bank of the river. In the top right corner is red text which says "71. GREAT DIAMOND ISLAND, ME.,". On the back of the card is printed "POST CARD" with a vertical line at the center of the card which has "THIS SPACE MAY BE USED FOR COMMUNICATION" printed at the top left of the line and "THE ADDRESS ONLY WRITTEN HERE" at the top right. On the left side is a handwritten message in pencil which says: "Dear Ruth/ Just received/ your letter and / you heard Peter was/ dead. that aint so/ Had a letter from/ him last week/ he was gassed awful/ lots of sickness around/ here/ letter/follows/ soon". On the right side is handwritten the recipient's address: "Mrs. John H. MacDonald / New Dominion / P.E.I. / Canada". In the top right corner are two green, American stamps. Collections
