The donor remembers several of these large style umbrellas being present in the cloakroom of her grandparents home in Lower Freetown. Despite there always being an umbrella available, the donor doesn't ever remember seeing any in use. These umbrella were thought to be pre-1940s as the donor remembers solid black umbrellas being out of fashion at this time, compared to the colourful ones that were at her own home in Charlottetown.
