DescriptionRoyal Canadian Navy tailcoat uniform jacket with a stand collar that is decorated with gold braid and white trim. The front of the coat is double breasted with two a row of eight brass buttons down each side of the front. The inside of the coat is lined with black polyester that is quilting down to the waist. The tails are lined with white wool fabric. The sleeves are lined with white polyester. The cuffs have 3 strips of gold braid the top row has a loop of the gold braid extending from the top. Also on each cuff is a crown-shaped piece of white fabric trimmed on three side with gold braid and has three brass buttons across the middle. On the back at the hips are 2 black flaps with a wide gold braid around the entire flap. There are three brass buttons under the flaps. There are also two brass buttons at top of the pleats and two at the bottom of each tail. There is a black metal clip at the left hip and a metal clip and loop of black wool on each shoulder. All of the buttons are embossed with an anchor surmounted by a crown. A white trade label is sewn onto the interior back of the uniform with the manufacturer's information and the handwritten name of the original owner.
