DescriptionRectangular cardboard postcard. The front of the postcard has a coloured image of the side of M. V. Abegweit near a wharf. The ship is white and black with orange at the water line. The water around the ship is blue and the wharf is grey and brown. The back of the card has a vertical line of print bisects it, there is also additional typed text on the back which reads: "M V Abegweit Ice-breaking car and train ferry operating between Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick. Passenger Lounges, Sun Deck, Gift Shop and Restaurant. A powerful ice-breaker, the ABEGWEIT operates year 'round. A capacity of 125 autos and 16 railway cars. "Queen of Northumberland Strait". The postcard is unused and in the top right corner is a rectangle reserved for a postage stamp.
Narrative
The MV Abegweit was an Ice-breaking car and train ferry operating between PEI and New Brunswick. The ship contained passenger lounges, a sun deck, a gift shop and a restaurant. The Abegweit operated year round and could carry 125 cars and 16 railway cars.
