DescriptionA brown paper egg carton designed to hold 12 eggs. The exterior features blue designs with directions for use and the producer’s information. On the top is printed “Mild Flavored Eggs Easton’s New Wiltshire – P.E.I Grade A1 Large” repeated on the right and left sides with “To Open – Lift Here” in French and English on either end. The sides feature instructions which on the right says: “This TWIN carton can be split in two for more convenient storing in your refrigerator Place face down on the edge of a table as shown – It is cut and scored to split easily.” On the left it reads “A feature of the TWIN carton is that the two halves will tuck into smaller space in your refrigerator. Half carton can be thrown away when empty, thus conserving space.” Images next on either side match the directions. On the opposite side are the same instructions but in French. The bottom features an abbreviated set of instructions and the manufacturer’s information: “Somerville Twin Egg-Salty Carton Made Exclusively by SOMERVILLE Ltd. Patented 1932”. The box is sealed with a rectangular label on the top center with small black font which says “This seal is your guarantee of quality Registered Grade A Producer No. 1 ABEGWEIT POULTRY FARM NEW WILTSHIRE”. The Easton family operated a mixed farm in addition to chick and egg production in the early – mid 20th century.
