On
Friday, September 15th, 2023, Islanders gathered outside the Honorable
George Coles building on Richmond St., Charlottetown to take part in the Global
Climate Strike, a global event in which concerned citizens made calls for the divestment
of fossil finance and investment in renewable energy projects. Ahead of the strike,
CreativePEI held a sign-making session with artist Alexis Bulman where
participants were given the opportunity to express their climate concerns. More than
100 attendees walked through downtown Charlottetown calling for change from all
levels of government to address climate change.
