In front of them is an early car with a person sitting behind the wheel and one in the back seat. Narrative
In 1859, Benjamin Rogers first opened a general store in partnership with Thomas Dodd. Rogers took over the whole business in 1904, changing the name to Rogers Hardware Co. In the 1920s, the Rogers Hardware Co. occupied a storefront at 137-139 Queen Street, Charlottetown, where it was a mainstay until 1988.
Mail order catalogues were very popular during the late 19th century and well into the 20th century. The catalogues provided shoppers with access to a large variety of products, which would not have been available at their local general stores.? ?
