DescriptionTwo piece handspun and handwoven red dress with black trim. The bodice (.a) has large, leg of mutton style sleeve made of black velvet on the top half and spun fabric on the bottom, edged in black grosgrain at the wrists. A large collar is present on either side of the neck/chest with black velvet on the exterior and woven fabric on the interion. The bodice has a high, stiff neck trimmed with alternating four rows of zigzag and horizontal grosgrain ribbon, which is repeated on either side of the front center, as well as around the bottom edge. The back features a center seam with darts on either side at the waist and the bottom edge comes to a slight downward point at the center. The interior panels of the bodice are lined in a light brown fabric, but with visible seams and black sections of boing.

The matching skirt (.b) is full and floor length with four, mismatched buttons at the waist. The bottom of the skirt is edged in four alternating rows of thin zigzag and horizontal grosgrain ribbon. Down the center are 16 black buttons/button holes with darts on either side at the waist. The interior of the skirt is lined in purple fabric with brown velvet at the bottom edge.
