DescriptionDark brown hardwood framed Regency style sofa upholstered in pink velvet the sofa has a heavily carved crest rail with Neoclassical details and a central medallion featuring a Scottish thistle. The arms are curved with a carved hardwood front the trim features a foliate design at each end with a ball and ring line carving along the front rail. The front rail is intersected by rectangular inserts above the front legs. All four legs are turned and deeply reeded with casters at the bottom. The sofa has been attributed to PEI furniture maker Mark Butcher. The sofa has two matching cylindrical bolsters (b-c). Narrative
