Narrative
Cameras and photography have changed so much since the early days of photography in the first half of the 19th century. This camera was compact and portable, even having its own leather bag. It needed rolled film and a fair amount of maintenance, with pieces like the extendable bellows.

George Eastman, founder of Eastman Kodak Company, was inspired to develop a simpler photography process while preparing for a trip to Santo Domingo in 1878. The trip never happened but Eastman's lifelong focus on improving photography was born. After several years of experimentation in his mother's kitchen, Eastman invented a dry plate formula to use in the photographic process. With this invention, the Eastman Kodak company cemented its name in history.

Kodak produced some of the most popular cameras of the 20th century, including the Brownie and Instamatic. Despite being the first company to develop a self-contained digital camera, the company struggled to gain momentum in the digital landscape.
