This artefact, known as "Wheelie", rose to virtual fame in April 2020 after being included in a Curator Battle hosted by the Yorkshire Museum on Twitter. The event allowed museums around the world to share their artefact collections during at a time most institutions were closed from the COVID-19 pandemic. The theme for the Curator Battle was fittingly "Creepiest Object" as Wheelie has become closely associated with supernatural activity within historic Yeo House in Port Hill, PEI, a site of the PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation.
Following the Wheelie's fame, the PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation released a line of t-shirts depicting the character. The Modern Brewer's Village Green even crafted a seasonal beer titled "Wheelie's Hazy Pale Ale".
This toy was made by the German toy company, Steiff. The company made a variety of Pomeranian toys in the early 20th century.
