Narrative
Projectile points were an essential component for survival. There are three words that potentially could be used to describe these objects: majjoqtelikn (arrow), kini'skwapskek (point of a rock) or kinikwek (sharp point). This group of points showcase the variety of materials and styles that could be used to hand make these points. These pieces were collected from various locations across the Island.

The range of stone materials are mostly but not all from Atlantic Canada. The materials represented in this grouping include local Island beach sources such as the white and grey quartz and quartzites, the grey dull pieces are made from Ingonish Island, Nova Scotia rhyolite, and some of the multi-coloured pieces come from the Bay of Fundy volcanic deposits. The elongated black spear in the centre probably dates to AD 1200-1400.
