The Polyclinic was opened in 1925 by Dr. Rupert F. Seaman, Dr. F. Wendell Tidmarsh, and Dr. Wendell MacKenzie, all three of whom were from Charlottetown and classmates in medical school. By 1930 the clinic expanded to include an additional three doctors. By 1946 the clinic moved to 170-172 Fitzroy Street, the former location of the Agricultural Hall, expanding once again to meet the demands of the community. The concept of the Polyclinic continues today at the location of 199 Grafton Street where it has been located since 1986.
