Narrative
This crazy quilt was made by Elizabeth MacNair. Originally from Scotland, MacNair immigrated to Canada in the late 1800s with her husband, Andrew, an engineer who later worked for the Bruce Stuart and Company. A member of Trinity United Church, Elizabeth MacNair was the first woman in the Maritimes to be elected as a church leader. She was also a driving force behind the Victorian Division of the Sons of Temperance.
