The Charlottetown Driving Park opened in October 1889 and quickly became known as one of the best harness racing tracks in Eastern Canada. The Charlottetown Driving Park is the host of the "Old Home Week" exhibition and the "Gold Cup and Saucer race, which started in 1960. In 2009 the track was rebranded as Red Shores Racetrack and Casino.
