DescriptionLarge bed with a roughly rectangular shaped headboard and end board. The end board has an octagonal roll on the center top and spherical finials on top of each column. The cornice on the headboard is slightly overhanging. There is a ring turned column on both sides of the headboard. There are three vertical recessed panels on the headboard and one horizontal recessed panel on the end board. The headboard is decorated with four diamond shapes while the end board is decorated with two squares. The squares and diamonds are black with a blonde wheel motif and blonde and brown border stripes. Like the head board the end board has ring turned columns on the sides. The end boards feet are goblet shape and the headboards feet are square boards. The headboard is further decorated with a floral motif carved in the two uppermost corners of the center panel and incised lines around all of the panels. Possibly attributed to John Newson.
