Narrative

In 1967, Garth and Margaret (Peggy) got married. Prior to this, they had come to visit family on PEI and they purchased this PEI Tweed of Confederation. Peggy made a "going away" suit from the material and it would appear, that a matching vest was also in the cards for Garth. Despite having a registration number, this particular tweed is highly elusive with little known about its inspiration. The orange and green colours probably reflect the Island's red soil and forested areas.

The couple married in Toronto after Peggy completed 16 exams for teacher training. They eventually settled on the Island and Peggy taught for 33 years in Summerside.
