DescriptionA rectangular postcard with a black and white image of a monument. Black text across the bottom of the image says "Soldier's Monument, Summerside, P.E. Island". The back of the postcard is divided down the center with a vertical line with a hand written address to the left: "Miss Geraldine Jensen / 6(?)-1(?) Chestnut St. / Halifax, / N.S.", and a handwritten message on the right: "Thursday 3rd / Oct. / 1955 / Summerside / P.E.I. / Dear Gerry / Was sorry to / hear you had / a had cold and / sore eye, but hope / both will be / better. Have not / seen your friend / Freda yet. Will try and bring some / Hunters fudge(s). / Love to all, Mother." In the top right corner is a brown two cents stamp with the profile of King George V with a black circular stamp overlapping the bottom left corner which has "Summerside P.E.I. 22 / Oct / 35" in the center.
