DescriptionSword with a straight blade made of stainless steel. The flat of the blade is engraved with floral motifs and a coat of arms. The sword has an "S"-shaped quillon which it capped on each end by an acorn finial. At the base of the hilt is a circular laurel wreath with an inset crown and anchor design. The grip is decorated with a white pebbled material that is spaced with seven thin brass bands and has a wider stripe of brass the back edge of the sword and terminates in a lions head pommel. A ring pierces lion's mouth, from it suspends a sword knot, and acorn tassel made of wood and thread. On the downward arm of the quillon is a slot for the scabbard catch.Sword scabbard that is narrow and tapered to fit the sword blade. The exterior is leather that is seamed at the center of the reverse side. There are engraved brass bands at the top and bottom of the scabbard. The bottom band has flat extension around the sides. The top band has two brass rings for attaching to the sword sling. A steel catch with a flat spring and notch which engages the slot in the sword guard is fastened to the top band by two screws. Both of the brass bands are decorated with a scroll, reed and heart designs.
