DescriptionBlack patent leather belt with brass circular buckle with a laurel wreath around the edge and a central design of a crown and fouled anchor. A strap is attached by two loops to the waist belt that has two short straps (D&E) attached by metal clasps extending vertically from it. F and G have brass buckles and spring snaps that attach to the sword. Narrative
This style of sword belt was a part of the Royal Navy officers' uniform and was adopted in 1901 with the ascension of King Edward, following the death of Queen Victoria. This style of belt continued to be used until 1952 when Queen Elizabeth ascended the British throne.
