DescriptionPilot helmet with a soft pliable leather outer shell with a suede inner liner. There is a small piece of cotton velvet sewn on the front of the liner and also sewn at the corners of the helmet where chin strap attaches. There are two bakelite ear phones inserted into rubber cups, one on each side these are padded and have red/brown and blue/brown wires connected to the ear phones. The wires exit at the rear of the helmet and are connected to the interior bayonet plug on the front left side of the helmet, an external microphone would have also been connected to the plug. An insulated cloth coated cord protrudes from the back of the helmet, and ends in a bakelite and brass male or bayonet plug. Attached to the bottom of the helmet is an adjustable canvas and elastic chin strap, with a buckle sewn to one end at the helmet and a circular snap on the other. There are two leather straps near the back that are sewn to the helmet and end in a brass snap. There is also another small leather strap is also sewn at the back and has a metal buckle which is adjustable. Three brass snaps on the front left, two brass snaps and a metal flap hook on the front right of the helmet, are to secure an oxygen mask to the two brass snaps on the bottom of each side of the helmet.
