Narrative
In 1973, a wave of celebratory mania swept the Island in response to one hundred years as Canada's seventh province. The official logo, a Smiling Father of Confederation, adorned a wide range of souvenirs and memorabilia, including this rye whiskey decanter.?

Produced and sold by the Hudson's Bay Company, this porcelain decanter is part of a limited series of molded decanters created to highlight significant milestones in Canadian History. HBC is the oldest merchandising company in the English speaking world and a household name in Canada. Other examples in this series are a beaver, a ship, and a buffalo.??
