DescriptionShort waisted red military uniform tunic with a wool lining inside the body of the coat and a cotton lining for the sleeves. The coat has one inside breast pocket and two outside breast pockets which are lined with cotton. Leather piece attached to collar on left side. The collar meets edge to edge and is made of velvet with a gold braid around the bottom and a brass hook and eye attached to the sides of the collar. The sleeves are red with blue velvet cuffs that are bordered with gold braids that meet to form interlocking loops. On the right sleeve is a set of sergeant's stripes. The jacket has a number of brass buttons seven down the front, one on each of the pocket, one button on either side of the collar at the base of the neck and one on each shoulder at the end of a velvet flap. The entire coat is red except for the shoulder flaps, the collar and the cuffs.
