DescriptionRound bottom woven basket with rounded sides and a wooden “D” shaped handle. Brown, faded blue and red coloured weft splints. Checker woven pattern is created from the 1 over, 1 under method; warp on base is approx. 2cm wide but then is split in two to make two pieces of warp for the sides; weft varies in size with widest piece at centre measuring 1cm; majority of weft appears to have been dyed blue with a few bands of red although faded all over; “D” shaped handle has notched ends inserted into the weaving; inner rim is bound to basket with strip of wooden splint.Collections
