DescriptionA grey-white, long-sleeved sweatshirt with crew neckline and thick cuff and bottom hem. Across the chest and continued either sleeve is an image of the Confederation Bridge spanning open water. At the bottom of the left sleeve is “New Brunswick” and at the bottom of the right sleeve is “Prince Edward Island”. Between the arched supports of the bridge are seen two sailboats, a fishing vessel, a group of porpoises, and sea birds. Beneath the image on the chest is written “Confederation Bridge / That Big Eh!”Narrative
On May 31st, 1997, the Confederation Bridge opened connecting PEI to New Brunswick and the rest of mainland Canada. The occasion was cause for celebration including an entire festival called ?Bridge Fest? where approximately 50,000 people crossed the bridge on foot.
This sweatshirt was made by Thunderbird Trading Limited, a clothing company base in Mississauga, Ontario. This special edition image was printed by the company up until 2006.?
