DescriptionShips sounding lead consisting of a large metal (lead?) weight attached to a rope. The rope has colored fabric (red, green, white, etc.) woven into it at various locations denoting different depths. The rope is wound onto a wooden spool with handles at both ends. The weight has raising letters on the exterior which says: "Canada Metal Co. Ltd. / Montreal".
