DescriptionA strap made of two pieces of leather stitched together. The narrower piece has several punched holes; the larger piece features a belt buckle at one end and five hooks rivetted to the leather.
Narrative
Used during the Boer War, this strap was designed to fit around the centre pole of a tent and could accommodate various diameters of pole. The interior of the straps were lined with rubber to increase the grip on the pole. This style of strap is more rare than the common style featuring a longer lantern hook.
