The sticker is printed with a blue handwritten font and reads, "I got my", followed by "COVID-19 VACCINE" below in orange, and then "#VaccinatePEI" in blue font below. These stickers were given to Islanders receiving their first doses of COVID-19 vaccine in 2021. A hashtag was included for social media purposes. Narrative
December 16, 2020 was a momentous day for Islanders during the COVID pandemic. This marked the first doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to be administered on PEI. Dr. Chris Lantz, the house physician at multiple long-term care homes, and two staff from Charlottetown's Garden Home were the first three people to receive the vaccination. Residents and staff of long-term care facilities, adults ages 70+, healthcare workers, personal support workers and adults from Indigenous communities were prioritized for vaccinations.?
Vaccine clinics were held at various spots across PEI and stickers were distributed to people after they received their shots. It was common for individuals to post "selfies" with their stickers on social media promoting their recent vaccination.?This sticker was acquired by the donor after receiving the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in June 2021.
