On July 7th, 2020, the Chief Public Health Office of PEI began recommending the use of face masks for use in public indoor spaces to help combat the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Masks would later be required in all public spaces as of November 20th, 2020, and would soon be required for students in the public school system. Mandatory Mask Mandates ended for public and school on PEI use as of May 2022.
