DescriptionSmall notebook from Carters & Co. Booksellers & Stationers with red covers. The front cover has two images that are overlapped. One shows a shore line and the other shows a tree lined road. The back has an image of the “Provincial Buildings, Charlottetown” (Province House). The notebook is bound by two staples at the top. The first several pages of the notebook have handwritten notes. Some of these notes suggest that this notebook was used around 1913.Narrative
Carter and Co. was originally opened in 1879 as a seed business by George Carter and quickly transitioned to books and stationary. In 1905, George's brother, Isaac, took over the business. By about 1907, they had become one of the leading names in the sale and production of postcards on PEI.
