DescriptionA small softcover book. The cover has a white background featuring the title and author name in light blue font. The title, On Rustico Shore, is located at the top-centre with the author’s name, Marjorie Hooper Dalziel, along the bottom. An image of two people on horseback is at the center of the front cover. The back cover features a black and white image of the author at the top-centre below which are four paragraphs on the author. At the bottom edge is “Ragweed Press Charlottetown”. The book has 109 page the first of which shows an illustrated map of the Rustico Shore, 1850. There are 22 chapters. The last page in the book lists other publications available through Ragweed Press.
Narrative
Author
Marjorie Hooper Dalziel was born, raised, and lived in Rustico, PEI, for most
of her life. Her first book, On Rustico Shore tells the folk story of a
shipwreck in the Rustico Bay and the many community members who took it upon
themselves to help rescue the crew.
Dalziel went on to become an award-winning
playwright, and has had two of her plays Circle of Stone and I Am What I Am performed at the Prince Edward Island Fringe Festival.
