The tray consists of a flat piece of birch bark with a second piece nailed to the edge to form sides. The sides are tab like protrusions that are woven with three narrow warp strips (1.0 cm) of birch bark. The handle is a thick curved piece of wood that is nailed to the long sides of the oval.
