DescriptionA cube shaped, blue plastic milk crate with white lettering. The top half of the four walls feather lattice-like design with inverted triangle holes for the handles at the top center. The bottom half of each wall is solid plastic. On the front and back walls is “Purity / Dairy LTD. / 6-75”. On either side wall is raised lettering with manufacturer’s and information on use. The bottom of the crate features a grid pattern.
Narrative

Purity Dairy was founded in 1946 by Gladys and Eugene Cullen in Charlottetown. The business started by delivering milk by horse and wagon to the residents of Charlottetown. Their range of products grew to include white and chocolate milk, cream, eggnog, cultured dairy products, and non-dairy milk. At the time that the company was sold to Amalgamated Dairy Limited in 2023 it was being operated by second and third generations of Cullens.
