DescriptionA rectangular postcard with a colour image of a Mi'kmaq encampment with a man sitting on the ground and a child in a hammock with a wigwam in the background. There is red text across the bottom of the image which says "Micmac Indians, Rocky Point, P.E.I.". The back of the postcard is divided down the center with a handwritten address to the right for "Mrs. A. L. Nickerson 20 John St. Halifax, N.S." and a handwritten message on the left which reads: "Rec'd lovely card. Thank you. Shall be very pleased to exchange cards with you. Kind Regards, Blanche W. McLeod, Charlottetown, P.E.I. Can". Along the top left edge is written "Miss Lovella Claridge". In the top right corner is a space reserved for a postage stamp with a circular black stamp present to the left. Narrative
The image featured on this postcard shows a Mi'kmaw man and child living at Kuntal Kwesawe'kl (Rocky Point). Two examples of well-known basketry styles made for sale by Mi'kmaw craftspeople are being held by the man.
