DescriptionSouvenir commemorative square plate with scalloped edging. The plate is red and ivory in colour with a glazed finish. The plate is decorated with the nine provincial shields along the bottom and two sides; topped with a banner reading "Dominion of Canada" with an english rose located beneath and surrounded by a combination of maple leaves, irish clover and scottish clover. The central image of King George and Queen Consort, Elizabeth, is enclosed by a laurel wreath overlaying the Union Jack and Canadian flags and topped with a crown. A red banner with white text borders the centre part of the plate and reads: "Commemorating the Visit of their Majesties to the Dominion of Canada 1939".
