Two hollow columns form the base and are welded to a long flat metal surface at the top which has two pointed corners and two rounded corners. In the early days of PEI's developing mussel industry, creativity and invention was a necessity! Specialized products didn't exist. Equipment like this mussel sock filler were designed by Joseph Van Den Bremt, a pioneer in PEI's cultured mussel industry, and manufactured locally by companies like Charlottetown Metal Fabricators.
