DescriptionPale peach child’s knitted dress (.a) with matching bloomers (.b). The blue smocking around the front and back as well as on the sleeve cuffs. The sleeves and folded collar are decorated with crocheted scalloped edging. The dress top is divided into two sections by a blue ribbon. The lower section is a pointelle-style knit and different from the top section. The dress closes at the back with 6 buttons and corresponding button holes. The bloomers are elasticated at the waist. Matching blue smocking is added around the leg cuffs along with crocheted scalloped edging. Narrative
Lulu starting exhibiting her work through the Women's Institute Pavilion as part of the PEI Provincial Exhibition and continued to exhibit for 40 years. Her work always won first place in the competitions.
Lulu was an avid sewer, making a variety of doll, baby and children's clothing which she sold in many locations, including the Singer sewing machine store. Many people also came to her house to buy clothes.
