Lulu enjoyed making doll and children's clothing, especially for her son. She sold her work at the Singer sewing machine store and many people came to her house to buy directly. Lulu was a longtime exhibitor at PEI's annual Provincial Exhibition, regularly winning first place.
A longterm illness required that Lulu move into long-term care later in her life. The illness had not affected her hands and so, Lulu continued to skillfully manipulate her sewing machine producing children's clothing.
