DescriptionWoven basket with a square base. The side bulge forming a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (8.0 cm high). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints on the basket and the lid (1.5 cm) are narrower than the weft splints (2.5 cm). Around the edge of the lid is a row of wrapped wood splint. In the center of the lid is a wood splint handle that is attached to another ring of wrapped wood splints. The side of the basket had a D-shaped handle that is woven in with the weft splints. The rim on the basket and lid are single wrapped wood splints.This is a hamper style basket.
