DescriptionWoven basket with a circular base. The side are straight forming a circular opening. The lid is circular as well (4.0 cm). In the center of the lid is a small single wrapped loop handle. The basket is woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. Most of the warp splints on the basket (1.1 cm) are narrower than the weft splints (1.5 cm). The basket is two rows of narrower splints around the top and bottom with two rows of wider splints (2.6 cm) in the middle. Along the narrower splints are rows of jikiji’j. Between the wider splints is a row of diamond jikiji’j. The lid is laid out in concentric rings with warp splint of different widths 0.3 cm, 1.0 cm, 0.3 cm, 1.4 cm and 0.5 cm. The ring that has the 1.0 cm warp splint has two rows of jikiji’j, Additionally the rings with the 1.4 cm warp splints has a row of diamond jikiji’j. The jikiji’j are dyed purple the rest of the splints are dyed red. The rim of the basket and the lid are single wrapped sweet grass. Attached to the underside of the lid is a single wood splint (2.5 cm) that is double wrapped.
