DescriptionWoven basket with a square base. The side transition from square to a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (3.0 cm). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints on the basket (0.3 cm) are narrower than the weft splints (1.7 cm). Around the middle of the basket are three rows of wider warp splints (1.3 cm) that are bridged by a wave like design of diamond jikiji’j. The weft splints on the lid alternate between two widths (1.6 cm and 0.9 cm). Near the center of the lid is several rows of sweet grass. Around the sweetgrass is a row of diamond jikiji’j and another several rows of sweetgrass. The warps splint around the outside of the lid are mostly a narrower width (0.7 cm) there are also several wider warp splints (1.4 cm). The rim of the basket is single wrapped wood splint and the rim of the lid is single wrapped sweetgrass. Collections
