DescriptionWoven basket with a square base. The side transition from square to a circular opening. The basket has a circular lid (4.5 cm). The basket and lid are woven in a one-over-one-under checker pattern. The warp splints on the basket are three widths (0.4 cm, 0.6 cm and 1.5 cm) and are mostly narrower than the weft splints (0.9 cm). The narrowest splints are around the bottom, the middle width is around the middle and with widest are on either side of the middle with a row of diamond jikiji’j below the middle splint. The warp splints on the lid are two different widths (1.6 cm and 0.4 cm) and are mostly narrower than the weft splints (0.6 cm). The widest splints are on the sides of the lid and are bridged by a row of diamond jikiji’j. The top of the lid is mostly the narrower splints with two rows of sweet grass around the edge and several rows of sweet grass in the middle of the lid. In the center of the lid is a looped wood splint bow. The rim of the basket is single bound wood splint and the rim of the lid is single wrapped sweet grass. Collections
